![]() History: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)The industry achieved its long sought after pari-mutuel tax reduction by working collaboratively through OHRIA. The industry’s business plan for the allocation of these new revenues was formalized in early 1997 in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations (MCCR), the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) and OHRIA.Signatories of the MOU include:
Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)In December 2002, the Hon. Tim Hudak, Minister of Consumer and Business Services, the Ontario Racing Commission and OHRIA signed an addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement ensures that 8.23 percent of thoroughbred horse people’s share and 8.37 percent of Standardbred horse people’s share of the slot machine revenues will continue to be collected as part of the Horse Improvement Program. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
