![]() Tuesday, June 26th 2007 WOODBINE HOMEWORK CLUB LAUNCHED Partnerships create one-of-a kind homework program Toronto, Ontario – Nick Eaves, President of Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) announced the launch of the Woodbine Homework Club at the Ontario Property Management Group’s Maurice Coulter Housing Co-operative. “We are excited and proud to have worked together with Toronto Police Service 23 Division to create the Woodbine Homework Club,” said Mr. Eaves. “This program provides a safe after-school environment for children who need assistance with their homework.” The Woodbine Homework Club is a partnership between Woodbine Entertainment Group, Toronto Police Service 23 Division, Microsoft, Ontario Property Management Group and other community partners and suppliers. “We want to thank 23 Division who identified this community need,” continued Mr. Eaves. “When they approached us about supporting a Homework Club in Jamestown it became a priority for us to become a sponsor, work with our partners and suppliers and help coordinate this community effort.” “I applaud the leadership by our community partners in this initiative to establish this program,” said Superintendent Ron Taverner, 23 Division. “As a community it’s important that we provide our children with supervised after school activities.” “I want to personally thank 23 Division for this initiative and to credit Woodbine Entertainment Group and all other partners for making this program a reality,” said Monte Kwinter, Ontario’s Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, “Our government applauds the community and all the business partners for coming together to create the Woodbine Homework Club and hope this will be an example for other partnerships across Ontario.” WEG is Canada’s largest horse racing operator and is one of the most innovative racing companies in North America.
