![]() Wednesday, June 3rd 2009 Sue Leslie on the HST OHRIA has been very pro-active regarding the Ontario government’s proposed harmonized sales tax (HST) and its affect on the horse racing industry. OHRIA has been in contact with top officials in the Minister of Finance’s office to guarantee that our horse racing industry is treated fairly. We have been assured that our concerns have been duly noted and properly addressed. Subsequent to these preliminary discussions our expectations are that the horse racing industry will not be disadvantaged as a result of the new HST. This tax will come into effect on July 1, 2010. In the meantime OHRIA is committed to remain fully engaged in consultations on behalf of the horse industry. Sue Leslie, President & Chair, OHRIA | ||||
